
MRI was the general contractor for this $2.5 million medical center in Sugar Land, Texas. Features of this project include.
• Concrete cancer treatment vault for the linear accelerator
• Two story building with elevator and two stairwells
• Wood framed structure with trusses up to 60 feet long
• Examination rooms, surgery and treatment areas
• Lead lined walls for the CAT scanner and x-ray rooms
• Nuclear radiation isolation areas for hypertension treatment
• Performed the framing and installed cabinets
• Formed the vault that had 53 inch thick walls
MRI helped the owner make ongoing design decisions to help complete the concrete vault for the linear accelerator to ensure that it fit into the building as well as other ongoing design decisions that helped this project be successful.
