Packing contents, blocking furniture and immediate water extraction are part of a rapid response procedure that allows resumption of normal business work activities. Placement of air movers and in some cases, dehumidification equipment, contributes to proper drying of finishes, sheetrock and carpet and will remove excess humidity from the air. Careful removal of base molding prevents damage to finishes and drilling holes in the wall behind the molding allows faster drying. Drying will help control mold and mildew which can cause more complicated problems. Removal of electronic equipment and specialized cleaning can also prevent needless permanent damage.
