Shipyard Suffers Quake Damage
March 28, 2001 will remain in the minds of the personnel at Todd Pacific Shipyard in Seattle for quite a while. The temblor caused the whirly cranes to jump up and down and several jumped off their tracks. Masonry walls cracked and crumbled, concrete fractured, pavement settled and heaved, and the piers and dry docks shifted. MRI was called to provide a preliminary evaluation of the earthquake damage to Todd’s mission critical buildings and other facilities including the dry docks and other large structures.
