Apartment Tornado Damage Requires Rapid Evaluation
The 54 buildings in this complex sustained tornado damage that included torn off roofs and balconies, damaged air conditioners, broken glass, wet electrical systems, demolished brick walls, and ruined interior finishes. MRI was called because the insurance adjuster needed rapid evaluation of the damage and an engineering and architectural evaluation to establish the structural condition and code upgrades that would be required by the city. MRI also quantified the damage that could be repaired rapidly so those costs could be estimated and work orders issued to subcontractors so additional damage to interior finishes could be prevented. The detailed scope of work and cost estimate was completed was used as a basis for negotiation of a fair and equitable settlement.
